5 reasons to take part in an Instagram yoga challenge.

Instagram Yoga Challenge

1) Make new friends.

This was the initial reason I decided to take part. I'd hardly used my Instagram account before starting this blog about how to become a yoga instructor. Although a number of my friends really enjoyed their yoga practice not many of them were on Instagram so it seemed like a fun way to connect.

2) Get inspiration

You'll get some great ideas of new poses and variations to include into your practice. Check out the competition #tags, the judges pictures as well as you fellow Instagram Yogis feeds too.

3) Surprise yourself

Possibly there'll be poses in there that you have never attempted before. You might surprise yourself by getting into a whole new pose or notice a huge improvement in one you haven't practiced in a while.

4) Feel supported

I was very nervous when I started this blog, all of these photos of me out there online had me feeling very exposed and self-conscious. There's such a great yoga community on Instagram though that it feels very safe. There's always comments of support and plenty of help and advice too.

5) Watch your progress and see yourself improve

Taking pictures of your asanas is a sure fire way of being able to correct yourself. You'll see yourself. The first picture I saw of myself in upward bow showed me immediately where my problem was with this pose. Further, you will have a photo diary of your practice progression.

Be social, come and join in on Instagram or join me on whichever platform you frequent, click one of the buttons on the left hand side or at the top or bottom if you are on the mobile view.

If you are not on Instagram then come you can check out my feed on this blog or on my facebook page too, just click the Instagram tab.

Use the buttons below to share this post with your friends.
