I learnt so much in my first week here at The Yogarden on my yoga teacher training course that it is difficult to know where to start or to put it into words. Instead, let me be slightly flippant and have a little fun…..here are 5 offbeat things that I learnt.

1) If you want strong, healthy hair, then you should press on your fingernails with weight. So, for example, do downward dog on your fingernails. Tugging on your hair will offer a similar physiological response.

2) There are 24 hours in a day because there are 24 lunations in a year. One full and one new moon a month.

3) You should never train your pelvic floor by actually stopping your pee as this can cause infection.

4) Your bones need impact to be strong.

5) Your present is your past as far as your future is concerned. (Thank you, Ram for that and many other fabulous insights!)

What fun and interesting things did you learn?
