Why am I doing my yoga teacher training course?

While this blog is all about how to become an yoga instructor, I'm not sure if that is my ultimate goal. I mean, yes, I want to complete the course and technically become a yoga teacher but I'm not sure that I am doing it so that I will teach yoga.
When deciding if I should do a yoga teacher training course and then choosing which one to do I did get caught up in the reasons why I might be doing it. My motivations and what I could do with my new found knowledge could be explored later. Well, now, it's later....so why am I doing it? Is "I wanted to" good enough?
Probably not eh? But why not? With all the new year sentiment about making 2015 more ‘fuck yeah’ than ‘fuck this’ is certainly should be. Why not? Do what makes you happy, makes your heart sing. Filter out the stuff that doesn’t, don’t bemoan it, loose it and watch your life change.
I think I wasted a lot of time trying to justify doing the course. If I had just asked, “Ayesha, do you want to do the course?” Answer, “Fuck Yeah!” Then the whole process wouldve been a lot simpler.
If you want some tanglible reasons thougth and what I hope to learn then I can say I want to learn more and I want to deepen my practice. The course is in-depth and concentrated and the perfect environment to find the answers to all of those questions too. How do I work into that pose? How do you let go? How can you quieten your mind? If someone upsets you are you supposed to simply breath, smile and let it go and if so how do you not then get taken advantage of? It will be interesting to revisit these and other questions buzzing around my brain. It will also be interesting to see how I feel about teaching too. Watch this space
